Yes. CCTV is in full operation at AAAsports Sunderland for the safety and security of all Members, Team, and visitors. Cameras are positioned throughout the building in public circulation areas —there is no CCTV in any private areas such as inside toilet cubicles.
CCTV is used to support our safeguarding responsibilities, assist in monitoring the building (including low-traffic areas), prevent unauthorised access to secure spaces such as cleaning storage, and protect against false allegations or misconduct.
The system is password-protected and securely stored in a locked management-only area of the building. Footage is held for 30 days unless downloaded for a specific safeguarding or security reason.
Access to CCTV footage is strictly limited to the AAAsports Management team — whom are enhanced DBS-checked and fully safeguarding trained.
Signage is displayed at the entrance to AAAsports Sunderland, in line with UK law and Information Commissioner’s Office guidance. By enrolling, Members agree to the use of CCTV as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
Please note that other venues where AAAsports runs Classes (such as leisure centres or schools) may also use CCTV, but this is managed by the venue and not by AAAsports. Any questions regarding CCTV at these hired venues should be directed to the venue itself.
